The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (IFA) in Berlin, Germany, is currently underway, and Chinese companies have made a remarkable presence. As per recent reports, nearly half of the companies participating in this year’s IFA exhibition hail from China.
Prominent domestic home appliance giants such as Midea, Haier, TCL, Skyworth, Changhong, and Hisense have made their mark, alongside cutting-edge brands like Zhuimi, Shitou Technology, Laifen, SKG, DJI, Honor, and Jimi. These companies collectively occupy nearly 50% of the exhibition space, particularly in the main exhibition halls.
In light of the slowing growth of China’s home appliance and consumer electronics industry and increasing competition, many Chinese firms are looking to expand their footprint overseas. This year, for the first time, TCL has booked an entire exhibition hall, Hall 21, focusing on intelligent terminals, semiconductor displays, and new energy photovoltaics. Among their showcased products are the QD-Mini LED TV X11H and the massive 115-inch QD-Mini LED TV X955 Max.
Hisense and Skyworth have also jointly contracted Exhibition Hall 23, with Hisense showcasing the “Black Myth: Wukong” customized TV. Midea has secured Hall 5-1, while Haier and Honor dominate Halls 3-1 and 6-2, respectively.
In Hall 9, newer companies like Ecovacs, Roborock Technology, Zhuimi Technology, and Leifen have also staked their claim, showcasing their latest innovations. Other tech-forward brands such as DJI, XGIMI, and SKG continue to expand the Chinese companies at IFA 2024 presence throughout the event.
This growing Chinese presence at IFA signifies a shift towards international expansion, as these companies aim to tap into global markets amidst domestic competition and market saturation.
