But for Huawei, this press conference also announced another good news: Huawei's new commercial brand for terminals, Huawei Qingyun, has officially been born, which is an important move by Huawei on its first anniversary in the commercial field. In the next time, we will be able to see a series of Huawei Qingyun products entering large, medium and small enterprises and becoming the main office equipment.
In Huawei's view, Huawei Qingyun is committed to bringing the digital world to every enterprise, every entrepreneur, and every social producer, enabling thousands of industries to create a better future together, which is in line with Huawei's overall brand vision. But unlike the consumer market, there are different strategies in the commercial field. Huawei Qingyun should base itself on independent innovation, create reliable products with quality, maintain an open and co-creation attitude, and explore people-oriented cooperation to bring more reliable guarantees, more efficient collaboration and smarter office to enterprises.
We were also fortunate to interview Zhu Dongdong, president of Huawei's terminal business commercial office product line, and talked with us about some of Huawei's thoughts on commercial field.
People-oriented, satisfying buyers and users
In fact, before the press conference, I saw the Huawei Qingyun G540 product. It may be because I was facing the consumer market for too long and didn’t have much favorable impression when I first saw this product. Because it looks more “moderate”, it does not have the cost-effectiveness of the MateBook digital series, nor the ultimate design of the X Pro series. In fact, at this time, I was already trapped in a preconceived vicious circle, and it can be said that I did not evaluate the Huawei Qingyun G540 product with people-oriented approach. Of course, there are not a few people who think like this, but Huawei also has its own thoughts.
Zhu Dongdong said that Huawei has a core starting point for commercial use, that is, whether it is for large companies or individuals, users are all consumers. The biggest difference between this and consumer products is who its buyer is. If it is a purely consumer product, the buyer may be the individual consumer. In this way, the product will be the most dazzling and the parameters will be competitive. But from the perspective of the enterprise, it is the dominant decision-maker of procurement and needs to consider cost control. His ideas are different from those of users. What Huawei Qingyun has done is to integrate many of the demands of purchasing decision makers into the product, which is a very big difference.
In this way, people who are people-oriented are not only users, but also small and medium-sized enterprises and large enterprises. In the past year, Huawei has launched a companion plan for small and medium-sized enterprises and a “flying” plan for large enterprises to help enterprises solve product problems and will provide a series of support. In this way, both small and medium-sized enterprises and large enterprises will enjoy further service guarantees after choosing Huawei commercial products.
Open and create together, get along with partners
In Huawei's view, open co-creation is a very important consideration for commercial terminals. Huawei Qingyun needs to build a platform-based capability. This capability is not only the independent full-stack end-to-end IT solution capabilities and the ability to provide customers with products, but also the ability to build some third-party ecological alliances and include some customized solutions. Through such an open platform, more partners will be surrounded by Huawei. Simply put, Huawei needs to clarify such a relationship when making a commercial terminal, what role should partners play, how to build an ecosystem, how to unite, etc.
At the level of open co-creation, Zhu Dongdong said that it is very difficult to innovate around this. It must not only meet office needs, but also have sufficient cost competitive advantages to create cost-effectiveness for users. The advantage of Huawei Qingyun series products is that they have made targeted innovations under the general logic of saving money for customers' procurement. The parameters are not that critical, the core is what you have made around the parameters. For example, Huawei Qingyun G540 has no intelligent ability to specialize in Huawei because it is facing large enterprises. Because after getting the product, these customers will directly install the system into Windows Pro, and then add various security controls, the original intelligent experience will be erased, so intelligent ability will be the main focus of products for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Moreover, commercial terminals often pay more attention to expandable capabilities, flexible customization capabilities, and reinforcement of safety and reliability. Expandable designs can meet the needs of different industries and the needs of different enterprise scales, and the same is true for flexible customization capabilities. Strengthened security and reliability can meet the ultimate security needs of enterprises, including information security protection. In recent years, security incidents have occurred frequently, and enterprises have also paid more attention to this aspect.
Reliable quality, so that customers can use it with confidence
In terms of quality, one of the major selling points of Huawei Qingyun's products this time is that they are splash-proof and have successfully obtained IPX1 certification. When facing water splashes in office scenes, they can deal with it without any pressure. Zhu Dongdong revealed that there were companies that used to prevent splashes, but they were prone to probabilistic failures, and Huawei obtained IPX1 certification because of its serious spirit. For example, the liquid volume of a splash-proof laptop was defined as 60ml, and Huawei Qingyun achieved 310ml, and there would be no problem if it poured a cup of water.
Secondly, Huawei Qingyun has made an average MTBF failure-free time, and Huawei can achieve 1 million hours, so Qingyun products have also undergone an average failure-free certification of 1 million hours. This also requires the power of Huawei Labs, which can support thousands of computers and thousands of tablets to perform operations and tests without manual interference at the same time. In the laboratory, the laptop is turned on in each cabinet, and there are five cameras in front, rear, left, right and upper. The robot can continuously tap the keyboard according to the numerical settings. The camera can observe the various performances of the screen when pressing the keyboard without dead angles. If there is an abnormality, it will be recorded and fed back to the background. In this testing environment, all quality and fault problems can be revealed.
Finally, Huawei Qingyun S540 passed a number of authoritative quality certifications, each of which has passed 60+ rigorous reliability tests, and the entire machine has obtained IPX1 waterproof certification. Huawei Qingyun G540 has undergone 14 major and 31 minor military-regulatory MIL-STD-810H testing. It still operates steadily in strict environments and has passed the 1 million-hour MTBF certification to ensure the product's low failure rate and high quality. At the same time, it has a pre-installed TPM 2.0 security chip, which can bring more complete security guarantees in startup and password management.
Independent innovation and take a different path
Huawei's Qingyun series products have introduced the new design language FLAT DESIGN for the first time, which has never been made in consumer business notebooks before. In the past, Huawei laptops had arc angles and looked softer, but commercial products were designed with more edges and corners. In addition to design, Huawei's other consideration is that it can achieve customizable capabilities and flexible configuration capabilities. It can put different things according to customer needs, and it is not just a simple design.
For example, antenna capability, thanks to Huawei's technical accumulation in the field of antenna technology, the signal transmission efficiency of Huawei's Qingyun series notebooks has been increased by 23%. In this way, when facing various office scenarios, you can always have good signals and also have faster transmission efficiency than other notebooks. Typical of these are the laptop's audio pickup and radio, as well as the features of the movie, natural sight, smart voice, and super terminal. Huawei is innovated based on application scenarios and needs, which can meet users' usage needs well.
